Man is in a terrible position before a perfect God. We have broken His commands. We have sinned in many specific ways and are judged guilty. The 10 commandments are a mirror to show us how we are doing. We have to keep them perfectly, externally and internally, if we want acceptance by God. Our conscience will testify against us under closer examination. We have no hope in ourselves or our religion.
But we have hope in His favor. We believe God saves the sinner through the spoken word of God, it is our job to preach and live the gospel, it is the Lord that converts and brings fruit. We labor to warn mankind of the wrath to come and the grace that is available to all those who repent and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith, ie. a simple trust in who He is and what He has done for man in history. There is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. Our sin separates us and our idols can not save us.
Scripture:
It is God’s Word. It is inspired, inerrent, sufficient for all manner of life and used to change us by the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit.
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit:
He is a Person, not a force, infinite in power, present every where, knowing all things and permanently indwelling the believer upon conversion. He is our teacher and Great Comfort, a deposit on the guarantee of eternal life.
Eternal Life:
Ultimately we will be living with our Creator in perfection, a new heaven and earth, but starting now, we are fully forgiven and loved. We will be fully aware as a human being in a new state. We will be in relation with all believers of all time without friction or time shortages. Eternal Death is for those who reject the gospel that brings eternal life.
Time to Serve. We are able to bring God's love to the Palawano by living the Christian life of love and service while preaching the good news to anyone who is willing to listen. Founding and directing an orphanage is a good work in God's sight, but it could never off set a single sin. It is by God's mercy that the Lord Jesus Christ paid for all our sins on the cross. He rose from the dead, proving that He is God, Creator and King. Salvation is not by good works, otherwise we would boast of our righteousness. God alone is righteous, and forgives those who repent of thier sins. Religion can not save us, and it does not change us, only Jesus Christ will make us new, able to follow God and live a life of love.
